I am pretty much shutting down this blog for good. I have decided that the majority of my online efforts will be dedicated toward the Autonomy Without Tears blog.
Thanks,

Christ vs. Paul
I've always said that my curse is that I'm both more and less of a Christian than anyone will ever know. I have a profound love for the personage and teachings of Yeheshua (Jesus), but I profoundly despise the church and "Christianity." In doing some light reading this morning (wading through Colin Wilson's massive tome, The Occult
, if that can be considered "light" reading, ha) I found the following quote, which I find resonant with my own current model of thinking:
... [Jesus] had certainly never preached the war of the soul against the body. He preached universal love, the principle of mutual aid. ... Jesus was a visionary who foresaw the kingdom of God on earth, and who wanted to persuade men to behave like gods and not like animals. He had no dislike of the body as such and was perfectly prepared to eat with publicans and sinners. It was St. Paul who invented the religion of salvationism that depended on self-torment, and that thrived on hysteria and emotionalism. It happened to fit the need of the human race at that point in evolution for rejecting the 'lower self' that lives and dies like an animal. It is arguable that St. Paul's 'crosstianity' was one of the greatest disasters that has ever befallen the human race: a great black shadow of intolerance, a super-totalitarianism that makes communism seem harmless by comparison.

New Blog
I am splitting up my projects here. I am going to retain this blog, The New Illuminati, as a spot for my philosophical, psychological, political and mystical musings.
I am starting a NEW blog, Autonomy Without Tears, to detail my inquiry into and attempt at living self-sufficiently and environmentally sustainably.
So check it out. Nothing up at the moment yet, but I'm going to start working on it this evening.
Cheers,
Jon

Sarah Palin's Debate Strategy
Oh.
My.
God.
Can anyone actually think Sarah Palin should get anywhere near the Vice Presidency? I've never been a huge Obama fan, but after watching last week's vice-presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, the choice for me is clear. ANYTHING to keep that crazy, ignorant woman away from the White House.
Big up to the guy from adennak.com for coming up with this one:

So true. So very, very sad and true.

Land of the Free
One of the most frightening things I've seen yet. This is where I fear we are headed as a nation.
Chilling.

Back On Track
I'm reviving this project, so to speak. I need an outlet, and this so far has been the best way to get my thoughts out. So, welcome back to the New Illuminati blog. I'll be posting some new content soon, maybe even today :)

Hiatus
I have decided to put this blog on hold for the time being. I have many other matters which require my attention, and therefore this project has to be put on hold for now. Thanks for reading, keep checking back as there may be something new here at some point.
Thanks,
Jon
